The youngest ever Barnardos Mother of the Year has been announced for 2011. Twenty-five year old Rebecca Healy from Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory lived in refuges for seven years from the age of 12 to 19. She then met her mentor and turned her life around. Now, she is a single mum to two boys, Blake and Chase, cares for her 16 year old sister and is an emergency foster parent. The Wire’s Karin Adam spoke to Rebecca about her win, her mentor and her passion for youth affairs.
