The shocking findings of a report released this morning by health academics Kate Van Dooren and Stuart Kinner reveal the increased risk of death to young people the year following their release from prison. They found young men are six times more likely to die than the general population, while young women are twenty times more likely to die.

Prisoner support groups say there is a desperate need for transitional services targeting 18-25 year olds being released from prison.
