In an Australian first, a class action has been launched today against the New South Wales government on behalf of young people who have been falsely imprisoned. Those involved expect almost 200 young people to be part of the class action, and they will seek compensation for the effects their imprisonment caused. Those involved say the police are acting on outdated information because the police computer system is not synchronised with the courts system, so they do not have the most recent case details.
