While Australia and the rest of the world battle the COVID-19 pandemic, Yemen faces one of the largest humanitarian emergencies.

Since conflict worsened in the country in early 2015, experts say more than 80 percent of the population is in desperate need of humanitarian assistance with more than half including children.

Yemen faces water, respiratory equipment, and sanitation supply shortages, as only half of their health facilities are currently functioning.

Advocates warn if sufficient funding isn’t provided, millions of people, including young children, could die from preventable diseases.
