While Australian athletes have been chasing Olympic gold in Athens, school children around the country have been chasing gold of a different sort. They’ve been trying to win the World Recycling Games. These games are an initiative of Visy Recycling and are aimed at promoting awareness of the issues surrounding recycling to school kids. The winner of the national award was Willoughby Public School in New South Wales. Their principal Carola Ierach says her children learnt a lot about recycling and had enormous amounts of fun along the way.
