World Ocean Day
Debate has been wrangling on the pros, cons and the bottom line of the proposed carbon tax. But around 12 thousand Australians turned out to World Environment Day events on the weekend, proving the environment is still high on our agenda. In the last 50 years 90 per cent of the world’s largest fish have disappeared – actually they’ve been eaten. Tomorrow is World Ocean Day – and this year is a crucial one for protecting Australia’s marine territories – home to over 1000 unique species including 23 species of dolphin, and the beloved Clownfish from Finding Nemo.
