A study of more than 200 native New Zealanders has found Western labour system regulations are not flexible enough to accommodate indigenous populations. Doctor of Anthropology Ruby Welch found different work ethics need to be taken into account by policy makers. Legislators need to be aware indigenous and non-indigenous people don’t have the same aspirations and goals when it comes to work.
