Young women can do anything they want these days – being female won’t stop you if you’d like to be a rocket scientist, an engineer or a globetrotting corporate manager,but according to a survey released today you might have to forget the family plans. Females in these more scientific roles are only half as likely as the average Australian woman to ever have children …and it’s the job conditions that are stopping them. Erin Young from the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, which surveyed almost 2000wome, said even before they collected this hard data on the issue they were hearing anecdotally that there was a problem.
