Winter starts in quake hit Kashmir
It’s almost two months now since the devasting earthquake in the troubled region of Kashmir killed more than seventy-three thousand people and left millions homeless. With winter fast approaching, the race is on to make sure the surivivors are prepared for the freezing temperatures that lie ahead in the months to come. But for thousands of people in the most remote areas of the region, the earthquake has not only destroyed their homes, it’s cut off their access to fresh water as well, and it seems only a matter of time before aid workers in Kashmir are faced with another humanitarian crisis.
