World trade, African development and global warming are all on the agenda at this year’s G8 summit, being held on Hakaydo, the northern most island of Japan. Global warming is a priority for the host country- Japan – but US President George Bush has already said the US will boycott any treaty that does not include India and China. With Brendan Nelson saying the Garnaut Report is too risky to implement without international action, the Wire looks at what impact the G8 summit will have on global climate change.
