The debate over same-sex marriage is heating up again as gay activists continue to fight for their right to love and marry. On the one hand, religious groups say marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman and that children and society will suffer if gay marriage is legalised. On the other hand, gay rights campaigners see legalised marriage as the ultimate recognition of equality and acceptance. This Saturday, gay supporters will attend the National Day of Action for Same-Sex Marriages, in a bid to legalise marriage regardless of sex and sexuality. The Wire’s Hannah Chipperfield spoke to people on both sides of the great debate.
