Yesterday saw 50 year old Narrandjeri man Bruce Trevorrow become the first indigenous member of the Stolen Generation to be awarded compensation. It’s a land mark case and all eyes are on the response of the South Australian government. For Bruce its vindication of how his life was changed by being removed from his family. He was only one year old when he was admitted to hospital with a gastric upset and the welfare authorities took him and adopted him out. Tom Trevorrow is Bruce’s older brother remembers how his parents felt when their baby was taken.
