What’s the difference between Labor campaigning and governing?

In the longest lead up to a federal election, Prime Minister Julia Gillard assured Australians, we would be able to tell the difference between politicians governing and campaigning. But recent media coverage of the Labor Government doesn’t appear to reveal very much of either.

A former federal Labor MP has been arrested for fraud, another state Labor MP testifying before a corruption commission, resignations of two senior government ministers and comparisons to the Nazi regime does not make for effective campaigning or governing.
