What should Australia be like in forty years time? That’s the question pitched to three Australians at a forum ‘Imagining Australia – what should our country look like in 2050?’ held in Adelaide this week, as the challenges of health, education, climate change and sustainability dominate political discussion. Sri Lankan born Shanaka Fernando is one of those Australians, he’s the founder of Lentil-As-Anything, a not for profit restaraunt chain in Melbourne. He wants to see a culture of engagement and self empowerment in Australia and in 2050, sees the country as a very different place indeed.
