Welfare groups cautious of carbon tax

Welfare groups have joined businesses and workers unions in expressing reservations about the government’s carbon tax. Minister for Climate Change Greg Combet says every cent from the tax will go towards protecting households and supporting affected industries. But not everyone is convinced. Today, the Australian Council of Social Service released a set of demands which they hope will ensure lower income earners are properly compensated.
