The Council for Australian Governments yesterday voted against a plan to raise water trade limits in the Murray-Darling Basin. Victorian Premier, John Brumby, led opposition against Federal Water Minister, Penny Wong’s, proposed water limit action, arguing the outcome would be better for irrigators. The decision against raising water trade limits has been met with mixed responses.
