With our country facing one of its biggest water crises on record and reports that the Murray Darling Basin is dwindling to a trickle with as little as 24 weeks of water in reserve State and Federal governments are scrambling to find solutions. Yesterday the South Australian Government signed an agreement that allows New South Wales and South Australian irrigators to traide their water licences. South Australian democrat Sandra Kanck is against the inititive labelling irrigators who engage in trading as water pirates and thinks this step is short-sighted.
