Researchers at the International Space University’s summer program have among other things been working on how space research can help the problems of the Murray-Darling basin. Post-doctoral aerospace researcher Matt Tetlov and Michael Oulke from the Johnson Space Centre in Houston were part of the “Stream Team”. They came up with a plan which would combine satellite, aeroplane and ground probe information and put it in the hands of farmers and water users so they can understand the water profile of the land they are working with.
