Water debate continues in Australia, but today the spotlight is on water management around the globe. An international water workshop is underway in Sydney at the moment – “Water and Its Interdependencies in the Australian Economy”, exploring water resources and thier impact on population changes, energy needs and climate change. Colin Chatres is one of the speakers at the conference and heads the International Water Management Institute in Sri Lanka, he says Australia has a lot to teach other countries about effective water use in a world that’s facing severe food shortages in the wake of a growing population.
