In 1953 Mervyn Megget went to Hooker Creek where he was among Walpiri people who had just been taken from their own country and relocated to the area. Mervyn set out to get to know them better by handing out paper and crayons and asking them to draw whatever they liked. Melinda Hinkson has recently brought the pictures back to life through an exhibition at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.
