War crimes accusations over Australia’s role in drone strikes

The Pine Gap Spy base in Central Australia is now the subject of international legal concern. Fairfax has reported that the Pine Gap base is being used by the United States to track locations of radio signals for their drone program. In May this year, the Pakistani High Court in Preshawa ruled that drone strikes were illegal- an axe amounting to war crimes. Now, Pakistani lawyer and human rights campaigner Shahzad Akbar says that the Australian government could face war crime accusations.
