CSIRO scientists have begun using ultrasound technology to research green sea turtles at Ningaloo Reef in WA.

Tracking operations have been conducted in the area for years as part of the Ningaloo Outlook Project, run by the CSIRO to inform the treatment of the area as a World Heritage Site.

The plan is to understand every aspect of the reef, and use that knowledge to responsibly manage it and other World Heritage Sites.
