And now to Western Australia, where a Memorandum of Understanding between the state and federal government will see an increase in spending on indigenous health. The partnership is committed to lifting the state of Indigenous health and will rely heavily on indigenous consultation, with both ATSIC and the state’s Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. Director of the States’ Office of Aboriginal Health, TERRY MURPHY, says initiatives that come from the $4 million dollar agreement will be community driven.
