The cannabis smoking devices colloquially known as bongs will be banned in Victoria from next year. Currently the water pipes used to smoke cannabis are freely available in stores. They are often displayed with signs waiving responsibility for their use by stating they are “for tobacco use only”.

The new laws would place a blanket ban on the sale or display of these products in an attempt to reduce cannabis use in Victoria.Nina Young spoke with Sam Biondo, an Executive officer at the Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association.
