Oil-rich Venezuela is one country in Latin America where democracy, in the past, appears to have worked. But when current President Hugo Chavez first came to power in 1998, 80% of Venezuelans were living in poverty. Now, a new Bolivarian revolution is taking over, one that’s improving the basic needs of the Venezuelan people and bringing Latin America together. Dr Carolus Wimmer is the Venzuelan member of the Latin America Parliament and spoke about the ideals of President Hugo Chavez.
