US Warns Against Further Escalation in the Middle-East

The United States warned Iran that conflict in the Middle East must not escalate, after a rocket attack struck the al Asad Airbase in Iraq and injured seven U.S. personnel.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken raised concerns that new waves of retaliatory attacks have followed last week’s killing of senior members of Hezbollah and Hamas.

Demos Hammond spoke to Ian Parmeter, former ambassador to Lebanon, who claims that escalation is not a matter of if, but rather of when and how.
