Israel’s Ambassador to Washington Michael Oren says that relations between the two countries are at their lowest point in 35 years. The dispute began when Israel’s Interior Ministry announced that 1600 new homes would be constructed in Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem. This came as US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Israel to restart mediated peace talks with the Palestinian Authority.
