If you take a stroll around the University of Queensland, don’t be surprised if you see a crew of female students working on one of their race cars they built from scratch.
These women are 20 of 60 engineering, business, marketing, and IT students who are members of UQ Racing, where they do everything from design, develop and build race cars to compete in national and international competitions. And they haven’t done too badly, either.
Through UQ Racing, students get practical engineering design and manufacturing experience, plus the chance to develop project management, teamwork, networking, and financial and resource management skills.
