The Wire

Last week the tropical low that caused Cyclone Ita wreaked havoc on the Solomon Islands. 10,000 were left homeless in the capital, Honiara, and 40,000 were displaced in the provincial regions. Many people are squatting or living in emergency evacuation centres. Organisations like Oxfam are concentrating on dispensing health kits whilst others like the Red Cross are tackling the issue of clean water.
