Today universities across Australia launched the Demand A Better Future: Fund Our Education campaign. At Adelaide University students pulled a dog food- eating stunt as part of the day’s events to highlight student poverty. Union President, Lavinia Emmet- Grey said because the independent age for student allowance is 25 many students are forced to live on just over 100 dollars a week. Rhiannon Newman fromthe National Union of Students said the campaign is designed mainly for students who are just starting their first year of university.
