Bundjalung  woman and author Sharlene Allsopp had always been told that Aboriginal people didn’t serve in World War I, and yet she felt a deep connection to place when she travelled through the historic war grounds of France. Upon returning home, a moment of inspired research changed her understanding of history and put her grandfather clearly in the picture.
