The future is looking shaky for our nearest neighbour following the announcement by Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare’s family that he is no long fit to lead the country. Sir Michael underwent heart surgery in April, and has been in intensive care ever since. He’s the longest standing leader in PNG since their independence in 1975. So where to now for the country that has been troubled by economic challenges and a history of corruption?
