In Geneva, a United Nations working group has just held it’s final meeting after eleven years – spent drafting a Declaration on the rights of Indigenous People. Committee member Les Malezer says countries with colonial histories have found the Declaration hard to accept. But he says they successfully gained agreement from all UN nations that the right to self-determination exists.
