The United Nations Working Group on the Rights of Indigenous People included the rights for Intellectual Property across a broad range of activities. The Native People of Hawai’i are having their intellectual property violated by the agriculture industry. The wire spoke to Keala Kelly a native Hawaiian and independent journalist about the cultural signifigance of the taro. Les Malezer Chair of FAIRA (Federation of Aboriginal and Islander Research Association) discusses his optimisim with the change of the Human Rights Commission into a United Nations Council.
