Train your brain, says safety campaign
‘Train yourself’ or die is the new message of an awareness campaign that hopes to reduce death on our railways. The campaign has included placing the pearly gates of heaven at central station in Sydney to remind passengers to be careful of level crossings, through to visits from Thomas the tank engine to educate pre-schoolers.
The Kiwis have also created a comical ad campaign to rival Melbourne’s previous “Dumb Ways to Die,” titled “Train Your Brain.” It may seem like fun and games, but the message is serious. Around 180 people are killed each year around train tracks through misadventure, and rail authorities want people to be more aware of where they are.
