Young offenders charged with serious crimes, such as rape and murder should be sent to adult prisons. That was the argument from the NSW Attorney General, John Hatzistergos today in parliament. In a bid to pass the amended bill, the Labor party has blasted the state opposition accusing them of being soft on crime. But critics of the proposed bill say the tough stance taken by the government will do little to help young offenders rehabilitate.
