A new report by Canberra-based think tank the Australian Institute argues that the Federal Government’s ‘Tough on Drugs’ policy is failing to stop addiction. Its author, Andrew Macintosh, found that while most funding for illegal drug programmes is directed to law enforcement, the nation’s drug epidemic remains untreated and drug rehabilitation programs under-funded. He spoke on the issue to The Wire’s Hagar Cohen.
