TikTok ban would be “silly”: cyber security expert

Australia could follow India’s lead and ban the popular social media app TikTok.

While politicians raise concern the Chinese-owned app could give access to Australian data, popular user Abbey Hanson has flagged what she calls censorship on the platform.

But cyber security expert Prof. Greg Austin said the ban would be “a really silly thing to do.”
