Three in four International students victims of wage theft

A recent survey of 5000 international students found more than three in four are earning less than casual minimum wage.

The accompanying report concluded that international students accept the underpayment often because of visa concerns or fear of losing their jobs.

With COVID-19 restrictions easing, the researchers worry international students may be even more vulnerable to exploitation due to their financial situations, which were heavily impacted by COVID-19 itself.
