Coal giant Adani is avoiding environmental oversight of its planned access to a massive 1.25 billion litres of water. The water will come from the Sutton River in drought stricken Queensland. Adani has avoided  a full environmental assessment, by arguing that the water isn’t for mining but for dust control and the washing of coal. Opponents say the argument doesn’t hold water.
