The Wire

In the lead up to Christmas a  rare astro event will light up the skies. Jupiter and Saturn will be in conjunction, not in itself very unusual but this time brighter and closer than at any time since 1226.  Throughout history such conjunctions have been regarded as celestial omens , and conspiracy theorists are having a field day , linking the event to everything from plagues to presidencies. (A President in office during a conjunction is said to be destined to die in office). From some places the event will present as almost one bright point of light.
