As the Federal Government scrabble to balance their up coming budget, discussion has turned to a possible increase of the Goods and Services Tax. Australia’s current GST is at 10%, dramatically less than that of other developed countries. Federal Labor is adamantly against a GST increase, saying it will have greater affect lower income earners. The Wire looks into who would actually be worse of, should the GST increase.
