Talks are continuing at the meeting in Bali aimed at developing a post-2012 framework for tackling climate change. Today the conference has been told that the developed world should give at least $50 billion each year to help developing countries deal with the worst impact of climate change. Domestically this would see Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd following up his move to sign the Kyoto Protocol, with an annual commitment of 1.5 billion dollars to developing countries. The call comes from a report released today by Oxfam, which says that developing countries are least able to cope with the rising coastal waters and decreasing agricultural productivity that will come with climate change.
