When you think of slavery does it conjure up images of Africans in chains in days gone by? Or the sexual slavery being forced upon women and children around the world? In fact many modern days slaves are often people being forced into domestic servitude, or into work without pay. There are 36 million people in slavery around the world, and here in Australia there’s been a 60 percent increase in the number of new investigations by the Australian Federal Police into trafficking and slavery during the past five years.
