September 11, 2001 is a date that will long be remembered. Not only for the horrific images, but also the positive stories and images of the amazing feats of heroism by the thousands of people involved in the rescue operation. But figures now show seventy-eight per cent of the rescue workers are now plagued by health problems as a result of exposure to contaminated air. One of the rescue workers, and President of the organisation, ‘Unsung Heroes Helping Heroes’, Jonathon Sferazo, says health problems were the last things he and his fellow rescuers considered as they went in to help save the lives of strangers.
