The previous government weathered quite a storm to get rid of compulsory unionismand introduce a voluntary system. And now today the Rudd government has announced that it is considering reintroducing a compulsory fee with the proviso that it isn’t used for political purposes. President of the National union of Students Angas McFarlane welcomed some aspects of the news but says more money will be needed, and differnt payment options need to be considered.
