While every Australian learns the story of our modern nation’s convict past, the story of Aboriginal convicts is only now coming to light. Researcher Kristyn Harmen set out to to uncover the largely unknown history of Maori, South African Khoi and Australian Aboriginal men who were convicted of a raage of offences, and ended up in our penal colonies. Their stories are told in her new book, Aboriginal Convicts.
