The right to eat sounds so straightforward and just an assumed entitlement for those of us living in developed countries. But for one in six people in the world, this right is denied and they go to bed hungry every night. The problem however, isn’t a lack of food in the world, but that in some cases it’s too expensive, and people simply don’t have access to it. While we are all in the midst of the global financial crisis, Jack de Groot, CEO of Caritas Australia says we shouldn’t lose focus of how this, along with a lack of food security is impacting those in under-developed countries.
