Abused women and girls in Afghanistan can now be prosected for seeking refuge in a women’s shelter under a new law imposed by the Afghan Supreme Court. If that wasn’t enough the Afghan government also wants to take control of the NGO run women’s shelters around the country. Adoption of this proposed regulation could see grave implications for the freedom of women.
