The fight for constitutional recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people has been dominating public discussion for decades. A progress report presented in parliament today outlined new recommendations for proposed changes to the constitution. The Joint Select Committee on Constitutional Recognition are recommending a referendum for 2016.
